🤗 HuggingFace releases Transformers Agent

HuggingFace has recently introduced the Transformers Agent, an innovative coding language model designed to dynamically generate various HuggingFace models for multimodal tasks.

This development is revolutionary, as it empowers users to leverage Hugging Face tools to create new models, thereby enhancing their capabilities with each application. It represents a significant stride towards fostering perpetual growth and improvement within the open-source community.

This breakthrough not only eliminates the obstacles to entry in machine learning but also serves as a remarkable testament to the prevailing strength of open-source initiatives.

🎥 Synthesia Research releases HumanRF

Synthesia Research, the pioneering research group responsible for developing the remarkable text-to-talking head/video generation tool, has recently unveiled HumanRF: a groundbreaking advancement in the realm of realistic human motion representation.

HumanRF employs High-Fidelity Neural Radiance Fields to capture and depict human movement from diverse viewpoints, enabling playback from previously unexplored perspectives. Remarkably, this technology achieves this feat by efficiently compressing data while preserving exceptional levels of detail.

The rapid strides made in NeRF technology have revolutionized various domains such as movies, video games, video calls, and even the highly anticipated "metaverse" that has captivated widespread attention in recent times. These advancements promise to elevate the quality and immersion of these applications to unprecedented levels.

🔮 Scale AI releases Donavan and EGP

Scale AI has recently introduced two revolutionary platforms designed specifically for government entities and businesses: Scale Donovan and Scale EGP.

Scale Donovan acts as an AI co-pilot for defense purposes, optimizing decision-making procedures for operators by compressing weeks of analysis into a matter of minutes.

On the other hand, Scale EGP offers a comprehensive solution for enterprises and government agencies to harness the power of Large Language Models (LLMs) without the need to expose their data to external AI companies.

It is worth mentioning that Fox Corporation and Koch Industries are already making use of Scale EGP in their operational processes.

  • On this day - May 11, 1979, At the West Coast Computer Faire, Harvard MBA candidate Daniel Bricklin and programmer Robert Frankston gave the first demonstration of VisiCalc, the original spreadsheet software. First released for the Apple II, VisiCalc made a business machine of the personal computer. VisiCalc was a huge success, selling more than 100,000 copies in the first year. VisiCalc also spurred the sales of the Apple II, as people would buy the Apple II just to run VisiCalc. Overall, the spreadsheet validated the usefulness of the home computer and was likely a major factor for IBM accelerating their entry into the PC market. (link)
