๐ Italy restores ChatGPT access
In addition to receiving a $10 bill from Microsoft, OpenAI has recently secured $300 million from a group of venture capitalists, which has given them an impressive valuation of almost $30 billion. Meanwhile, OpenAI has also managed to win over the Italians by complying with the requests of their tech watchdog.
ChatGPT is now available again in the Mediterranean, and OpenAI has agreed to provide training data information, an opt-out form for using user data for training, and an age confirmation box. It remains to be seen whether this quick and willing compliance will inspire other countries to follow Italy's lead.

๐จ Stability AIโs new chatbot
Stability AI is making significant progress at present, launching two model releases today. The first is a text-to-image model named DeepFloyd IF, which is capable of producing reasonably accurate renditions of text in generated images.
This achievement has been eagerly anticipated for some time. However, there is no update on whether it can generate realistic fingers. The second release is an open-sourced language model, StableVicuna, which is purportedly the first large-scale instruction fine-tuned and RLHF model. It is also available on Hugging Face.
๐ค Amazon plans to supercharge Alexa
Amazon's Alexa could be on the verge of receiving the upgrade long anticipated since the advent of language models last year, and if it doesn't come now, it may be long overdue. CEO Andy Jassy is leading the push to create the world's finest personal assistant, and it makes sense to begin with Alexa.
Despite its cutting-edge capabilities, using it can be a source of frustration, and integrating the most advanced language models available could be the catalyst it needs to improve.
๐ฉ๏ธ Palantir Launches AIP
Palantir, the brainchild of billionaire Peter Thiel, has introduced the Palantir Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) to integrate AI into military decision-making. With AIP, military operators can leverage AI to perform a range of tasks, including drone reconnaissance, generating attack plans, and disrupting enemy communications.
In addition to these functions, operators can also ask the AI questions, such as identifying enemy units in the area, requesting high-quality imagery, and summarizing operational strategies.
Despite Palantir's assertion that AIP ensures ethical, legal, and responsible use of AI in sensitive and classified situations, the company has not yet directly addressed known AI concerns.
